The Miracle of Jues 5000

 

Jesus was doing amazing things--hearing people hear again, healing them, and raising them from the dead! He was becoming more and more famous. And one day, he came to a hillside near the Sea of Galilee.

While He was there, a great crowd gathered to listen to Jesus. They were all so hungry!

He could see that they were physically hungry, but even more importantly, they were spiritually starved to death. They didn't know that they needed to come to Jesus for a spiritual meal.

So Jesus taught them about the kingdom of God, and he put their physical needs before his own. He loved them and he cared for them like a good shepherd!

When Jesus finished teaching, He gave them some bread and fish. The disciples then fed the entire crowd.

The miracle was a huge success! And even though they had only five loaves and two fishes, Jesus was able to feed over 5,000 people.

The story of Jues 5000 is found in all four gospels (Matthew 14:13-21, Mark 6:31-44, Luke 9:12-17, John 6:1-14). It is also considered the first miracle of Jesus' ministry, since it was the only miracle that he performed before his death and resurrection.
